Avalex Technologies is utilising Rotorcraft Asia 2017 as means to scout Asia-Pacific for prospective customers and cement the company’s footprint within the region.

At the show, the company is displaying its cockpit management units in the shape of the ACM 9400 series, the AVM4178Q, a four-screen full HD display, and the AVR8414 multichannel digital video recorder, among others. Dan Eckiss, product manager at Avalex, explained to Shephard that the company’s products are predominantly utilised by the military due to their ruggedness. However, the opportunities presenting themselves in the Asia-Pacific region are mainly in the law enforcement sector. Furthermore, Avalex’s systems can be found on board a variety of helicopters for a range of missions including powerline inspection, he said. The company works with major OEMs such as Airbus, Bell and Sikorsky but is looking to work autonomously, Avalex sales director David Findley explained further. ‘This is an exploratory [venture] for us… we have no representatives here bar one in Japan. In relation to the US we sell and support directly – we are looking at the region to work as an independent body.’ Avalex’s main office is in Florida.
